Channing Tatum's 'Ghostbusters' Not Happening Anymore?

Channing Tatum's "Ghostbusters" reboot may not be happening anymore, according to several reports online.

In an interview with Screen Rant and as quoted by Cinema Blend, Channing Tatum's would-have-been producing partner for "Ghostbusters" Reid Carolin said they've put a red light on the project.

"No I don't think so, I think it's too complicated," Carolin said.

"There's a lot of things going on with that brand and I just feel like it's over-saturated," he added.

Channing Tatum himself shared earlier this week with Screen Rant why they've put a hold to the "Ghostbusters" plan.

"That thing's gotten messy," Channing Tatum exclaimed on the all-male "Ghosbusters."

"I think we're in a bit of a gestation period," he added. "I really think it's a half-and-half. As soon as they hear it's happening, half the people go 'Ah, what the f**k? No. They cannot make that movie' and 'Oh yeah, I would love to see that."

"We're nowhere near going [on the male Ghostbusters]," he continued.

Nevertheless, Channing Tatum admitted he still would love do to "Ghostbusters" when the right time came.

Dan Aykroyd who portrayed Dr. Raymond Stantz in the original also has expressed hesitance in appearing on screen if the all-male "Ghostbusters" film did happen. But he admitted to The Daily Telegraph Australia that he has volunteered and would love to do a different role if the film proceeded.

Reports of a possible Channing Tatum-led "Ghosbusters" reboot surfaced in March. As reported by Deadline, the all-male "Ghostbusters" reboot would have been "action-centric." It targeted Tatum as one of the Ghosbuster to lead in the film with Carolin and Peter Kiernan possibly producing.

"We want to expand the Ghostbusters universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment," "Ghosbusters" architect Ivan Reitman told Mike Fleming, Jr. back in March.

"Paul Feig's film will be the first version of that, shooting in June to come out in July 2016," he added. "He's got four of the funniest women in the world, and there will be other surprises to come."

"The second film has a wonderful idea that builds on that," Reitman also said then before the Channing Tatum-led "Ghostbusters" got reportedly halted.
