Rapper Gunplay Dodges A Bullet Of Possible Jail Time For Foul Gunplay [Video]

Rapper Gunplay dodges a bullet of possible jail time for foul gunplay as his case against him was dropped.

The rapper told TMZ exactly what he was going to do now that his case has been dismissed.

"Today I am grateful and blessed that the case was dismissed ... I plan on picking up where I left off with my music and making hits with my upcoming debut album ... The first thing I am going to do today is smoke a joint, relax, play video games, and just be with my loved ones," Gunplay told TMZ.

There was video footage documenting a robbery committed by Richard Morales, known as Gunplay. He held his own accountant, Turron Woodside at gunpoint. TMZ learned that the accountant has refused to cooperate with authorities on the incident.

In the video, the Woodside appears to be showing Gunplay a few pages worth of notes. It is not known if this is what caused Gunplay to pull out his gun or not.

The accountant attempts to push Gunplay away from him. A third man then tries to break up the confrontation. While the two continue to argue, the third man is handed what appears to be a gold chain.

That third man is trying to give Gunplay the chain and remove him from the office. It took a few times, but eventually Gunplay leaves with the chain.

The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office told TMZ, "Video alone is not enough to convict an individual of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Although the armed robbery is captured on the victim's surveillance system, the victim, Turron Woodside, is uncooperative of the prosecution of this defendant Richard Morales [Gunplay]."

Officials say they need Woodside to authenticate the footage so they can use it as evidence against Gunplay, who was accused of pulling a gun on Woodside and stealing a cell phone and gold chain during the incident last fall.

Gunplay was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.

The State Attorney's Office says the judge subpoenaed Woodside but prosecutors were unable to find him in order to serve him. Officials say Woodside's family and co-workers have told the court "he's out of town and/or coping with a family death" along with other excuses.

The charges were forced to be dropped without Woodside to plead his case in the matter.

Gunplay is currently signed to Def Jam and Maybach Music Group.

There was an altercation between GunPlay and 50 Cent during the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards. There was a fight between Gunplay and members of G-Unit. 50 Cent was later seen that night bowling with Gunplay's MMG chain. That same chain made it a music video that had 50 Cent's son was wearing.

Here's the video of the robbery.
