Derrick Rose Dunks; Show Signs Return And Season Debut For Chicago Bulls

Derrick Rose had a dunk that excited Chicago Bulls fans of his long, awaited return.

The dunk took place prior to the Bulls' showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.

This dunk raised the question of when will Derrick Rose be ready to play again? Bulls' fans probably hoped soon after that dunk.

When news breaks on the possible return of the former MVP, it changes. One minute, he will return by the all-star break. The next minute, he might not return at all. Maybe he'll return down the stretch of the season. Maybe he won't play again.

This dunk draws some optimism that at least it seems as if the 24-year old won't call it a career at a young age.

Rose has been recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in the 2012 playoffs. The crowd went silent instantly when Rose went down He had lead the Bulls to a game one victory in the first round of the playoffs.

The game was pretty much over when Rose tore his ACL and that drew criticism over Bulls Head Coach Tom Thibodeau for leaving him in a game that was virtually out of reach. The head coach backed his decision to leave Rose in the game and management backed up its head coach.

Following Rose injury, the Bulls failed to defeat the 76ers. Chicago finished first in the Eastern Conference and subsequently lost to the eight-seeded Philadelphia squad.

Here is a video of Rose’s dunk that was filmed by ESPN prior to the game against the Thunder.

It was his right knee that he jumps off of and lands for the dunk. He tore his ACL in his left knee against the 76ers. Either way, it could be looked at as a positive. At least he’s doing something good on the basketball court.

Chicago is currently the sixth seed in the east with 26 games to go in the regular season. The Bulls are three games out of second place.

The Bulls will continue to take their time with Rose, hoping he’s the edge to push them over in the playoffs.
