Ellie Goulding Singing The New 'James Bond' Soundtrack? Sam Smith Denies Rumors He Was Supposedly Doing It!

Sam Smith just shot down rumors that he will be next in the line of singers of the James Bond tune and even passed it on that Ellie Goulding may be doing the new James Bond theme song.

In an interview with Capital FM and as quoted by BBC, he blasted the rumors and dropped that Ellie Goulding may be the one doing the James Bond tune.

"People seem to think I'm doing it but I have no idea what's going on," he said. "I'm being deadly serious. I think I would know by now."

"I heard Ellie Goulding was going to do it," he then revealed.

"I heard loads of different things," he also said as quoted by the Huffington Post. "It's definitely not me."

According to the Mirror UK though, there's reportedly no truth to Sam Smith's revelation that Ellie Goulding will be singing the new James Bond tune. Mirror UK reported that Ellie Goulding's management denied the James Bond rumor. They added that Smith might just be winding up the story.

While it's not yet clear who will be singing the next James Bond, Entertainment Weekly compiled some artist they hope to sing the "Spectre" theme song. Among them were Kanye West, Beyonce, Lorde, Radiohead, Duran Duran and also Sam Smith.

Sam Smith also got the support of Gladys Knight who sang the theme song for "License To Kill" in 1989.

"Sam has something in his voice - like it's more than just a song," Knight told BBC. "It's a spirit that you have when you deliver your music. And to me, Sam Smith has that spirit."

"He'd be a good Bond theme [singer]," she added.

Amid rumors, the truth in Ellie Goulding or Sam Smith possibly singing the next James Bond tune may be revealed in the coming months. "Spectre" hits the big screen on Nov. 6, according to The Guardian.
