'Goosebumps' Movie Trailer Disappointing? Jack Black And R.L. Stine Reveal Movie Details!

R.L. Stine's monstrous creations were unleashed in the just released "Goosebumps" movie trailer.

In the video, Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) met Hannah (Odeya Rush) whose dad happened to be "Goosebumps" author R.L. Stine (Jack Black).

"It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange," the movie description on its official Facebook page wrote. "He is a prisoner of his own imagination - the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books."

But Zach accidentally unleashes one of the monsters as he grabbed one of the books.

"The Abominable Snowman just crawled out of a book," his friend said on the "Goosebumps" movie trailer. "That doesn't just happen."

They are then chased into town by the growing number of monsters from Stine's book until Hannah thought of a solution.

"The only way we can stop them is to suck them back to the book," she said.

Buzzfeed gave a rundown of the other monsters that many millennials grew up to and made it to the film. Among them were The Giant Preying Mantis from "A Shocker on Shock Street," Will Blake from "The Werewolf of Fever Swamp," and Slappy from "Night of the Living Dummy."

Despite the number of monsters featured, some commenters on the trailer were disappointed that the clip did not look as scary as how they felt when they read the books as kids. Even Lindsay Putnam of the New York Post expressed that there was lack of horror in the trailer shown so far.

But Black, who portrays Stine, had a different opinion about the movie.

"The movie turned out dynamite," he said in an interview with on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Tuesday.

"The books are really funny and scary and exciting and we just wanted the movie to be as awesome and cool as the book series was and I think we cracked the code," he added.

Even Stine himself believed the movie version has promise.

"The movie does have that combination of fun and scary, they really did achieve that, so I'm very happy about that," Stine told Coming Soon Net last month.

The monsters from the "Goosebumps" movie trailer will be seen again when the film hits theaters on Oct. 16.
