Super Junior's Siwon Expands Entertainment Horizons As Producer For New Webtoon Film Adaptation

Super Junior member Choi Siwon will soon add "producer" to his resume.

The famously rich and multi-talented idol has bought the rights to the popular webtoon Interview, which is published in the South Korean web portal Daum, in collaboration with EnterMedia Pictures, reports Allkpop.

Siwon will be working with the same company that is planning to create American television remakes for the popular South Korean dramas like You Who Came From The Stars and Good Doctor.

But instead of a television series, Siwon will help adapt the Interview webtoon into a film.

Interview tells the story of a fiction novelist that is in a bit of a slump. But an interesting series of events unfold when the novelist allows one man to interview him after the man divulges that he knows about the novelist's unpublished manuscript.

According to Hype Malaysia, Siwon was drawn to the webtoon adaptation because of its unique story format with multiple narration threads to follow. Siwon and his production partners are reportedly looking for writers and directors based in the United States and South Korea.

As for his idol pursuits, Siwon and the rest Super Junior will be staging a comeback on July 16 for their Devil special album.
