Emma Stone broke her silence on the persistent rumors about her supposed breadk up with "Amazing Spider-Man" co-star Andrew Garfield, and that they recently reunited.

The "Birdman" actress also talked about the photograph at the height of the breakup rumors where she was seen picking up a bag with Andrew Garfield's name on it.

She told Vanity Fair, "When I picked up the bag, I was like, 'This is kind of funny if there are any [paparazzi] out there.' There's probably some rebelliousness that comes out in me after all these stories and people texting you for weeks about something that, for the most part, is not true.

Emma Stone has strived to keep her personal life, including her relationship with Andrew Garfield, personal.

So even if Emma Stone encounters a story, such as the breakup rumors with boyfriend Andrew Garfield for example, and even if she knows it's false, "I would rather just let it be false."

"See, I never talk about this stuff for this exact reason-because it's all so speculative and baseless," she added.

The rumor about the Emma Stone and boyfriend Andrew Garfield breakup was reported by tabloid Star Magazine which claimed that their busy schedules drove a wedge into their relationship.

"It's clear they've drifted apart. It's an unspoken issue, but everybody knows they are on hold. Yes, Andrew was filming but he could have gotten away if he really wanted to. The fact was, neither one of them wanted to plaster on a smile [nor] pretend everything was OK when it wasn't."

On Memorial Day Weekend, however, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield were snapped giggling while on a romantic stroll in New York City.

OK! Magazine alleged that Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield did break up but they eventually reunited because "they realized they loved each other too much to be apart."
