"How I Met Your Mother's" Robin Scherbatsky and "Scandal's" Olivia Pope won't be sharing the small screen anytime soon. Reports have surfaced that Cobie Smulders has apparently backed out of the Anita Hill HBO movie "Confirmation."

According to US Weekly, Smulders backed out of the HBO movie due to a broken leg.

"She said her leg started hurting so she had it checked out," the Us Weekly source said. "And that she must've done something to it without realizing sometime earlier."

E! Online has confirmed that the "Avengers" star did break her leg and had to pull out of "Confirmation." She was supposed to portray Harriet Grant and start shooting for the film last week or this week.

With Cobie Smulders out of the Anita Hill biopic, various news outlets have reported that there was no word yet on who will replace her. According to Deadline though, Zoe Lister-Jones has been tapped to take over the role as Grant.

Lister-Jones seemed to have confirmed the report by sharing a screenshot of it at Instagram.

"So excited to be a part of this incredible film!" she wrote.

The post used the hashtags #anitahill  #genderequity and #speakingtruthtopower.

According to The Washington Post, Grant was Anita Hill's contact during the Clarence Thomas' Senate confirmation hearing while he was accused of sexual harassment. Grant was supposedly the one who received Hill's full statement about the incident when Grant worked at then Sen. Joe Biden's office.

Hill is being portrayed by Kerry Washington. Last month, she even shared her picture on set of the "Confirmation" biopic.

Just this week, Washington also took to social media to share the scene on her last day on set for the Anita Hill film.

"My view on my final day (as an actor) on #Confirmation," she said on Instagram.

Cobie Smulders, on the other hand, has yet to speak about her Anita Hill film exit.
