The designer behind Ed Hardy and Von Dutch, Christian Audigier, succumbed to cancer on July 9. Over at Twitter, there was mixed reaction after news he was dead surfaced.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, some netizens were disrespectful over the fashion designer's death.

"Too bad he can't take his ugly clothes with him," Twitter @jadencion said as quoted by THR.

"Citizens, rejoice!" use @MikeGormanHFX wrote when he shared a link on the news of the designer's death.

"I saw a tweet mocking the death of Christian Audigier in relation to his clothing line," user @winsh observed as cited by THR.

"Some of you don't even know where to draw the line," he reprimanded.

In a report on Women's Wear Daily, his friends, meanwhile, shared their sadness over the French fashion designer's demise.

"RIP #ChristianAudigier my friend always," French rocker Johnny Hallyday tweeted as quoted by Women's Wear Daily.

"I will miss you terribly," he added.

Aside from Ed Hardy and Von Dutch, the designer also worked on labels like Levi's, Diesel, Guess, American Outfitters, Bisou Bisou, and XOXO, according to Us Weekly. 

"He was the true example of the most committed and generous father ever," Bisou Bisou and XOXO co-founder Michele Bohbot remembered of Audigier.

"So passionate about life and people. I will miss him dearly for all my life," she also said to Women's Wear Daily.

Even American artist Don Ed Hardy was saddened after the Christian Audigier dead news appeared.

"It is a sad end to a brilliant marketer; his incredible energy and vision brought my artwork to global attention," he posted on Facebook as quoted by CNN.

Christian Audigier went back and forth to the hospital as he fought cancer and a bone marrow disease before news he was dead came. He left behind a wife and four children, according to CNN. He was 57.
