KCON 2015 LA Guest Spotlight: Tanya Rodriguez

North America's largest convention for "All Things Hallyu" is fast approaching and as the days to KCON USA tick by, fans around the world are getting ready to "ignite their feels."

With so many artists and guests scheduled to appear at this year's KCON, it's hard to know them all but that doesn't keep us from trying.

In an effort to make things easier on those of you headed to KCON LA, we are featuring some of this year's special guests, to give you an idea of who to keep an eye out for as you sit in on the numerous panels and workshops KCON will be offering over their three-day convention.

First up is Tanya Rodriguez, the caffeine addicted jack-of-all-trades who optimistically calls herself a writer. Writing about everything Asian entertainment, in one way or another, Rodriguez has also worked with various tours as they've come through the U.S., as a photographer.

When asked how she first got into "all things Hallyu" Rodriguez answers that her childhood was very influenced by Asian culture.

"When I was younger, I spent a lot of my childhood in Hawaii, surrounded by Asian culture," she said.  "The love never went away, but as everything became more accessible in the states, I got more involved."

Trying to pick a favorite artist/group or actor is hard for Rodriguez. "I have too many loves. My favorite actors include Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Hyun Woo, Lee Hong Ki, Gu Hye Sun, and Taecyeon," she admitted. "I enjoy a lot of different types of music, so we're not even going to venture into that."

Rodriguez will be involved at both KCON LA and NY, taking part several panels, including "The Ultimate Question: What Is KPop?," "Men of KDrama: Flower to Hero," and "Rise of the Acting Idol."

When asked what she is most looking forward to at this year's convention she replied, "Each year has different opportunities so I'm looking forward to seeing what has changed. Also, the concerts. Who am I kidding?"

Rodriguez's advice to first-time visitors to KCON is simple. "Always check the times for your engagements and always eat the free ramen. ALWAYS."

In addition to finding Rodriguez at KCON LA and NY, you can find her on her website, HallyuKnow, as well as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
