Clara Gets Cleared As Polaris Entertainment CEO Is Indicted For Threats Against Actress

Korean actess Clara was cleared of all blackmail allegations against her former entertainment agencies chairman, revealed the Seoul prosecutor's office on July 13.

Clara (Clara Lee) was cleared of all allegations of blackmail against Lee Gyu Tae, the chairman of  former agency, Polaris Entertainment. The prosecution said that Clara's actions against Lee were not criminal, and indicted Lee for threatening her.

The legal battle betwen Lee and Clara included both sides claiming blackmail from the other party, but Clara was cleared of all charges and Lee indicted due to  threats of physical violence against the actress.

The prosection stated that Clara's attempts to go to the police and media due to Lee's sexual threats were not exaggerated nor malicious intent, and as such were not illegal. However, Lee's threats against Clara were revealed during the case to include sexual harassment and threats of physical violence, reports the K-Pop Herald.

"It may be scary to hear but [I] could cut your neck in a moment. [I] could make you disabled, anything is possible," Lee allegedly told Clara last year.

Clara included her request to terminate her contract with Polaris Entertainment due to Lee's sexual harassment in her lawsuit. She claimed that Lee knew everything about her, including keeping track of her menstrual cycle, and insisted that Clara end her relationship with her personal manager.

The prosecution revealed that Lee claimed to be able to Clara's private messages, and that Clara feared leaving her home at one point due to Lee's actions.

The court case also shed light upon the fact that Lee was said to have put an emphasis on his relationship with the police force and Korea's national spy agency.

Lee was arrested and indicted earlier this year aft an unrelated case relating to government embezelmment.
