Super Junior Discuss Absent And Former Members Kibum And Hankyung On 'Radio Star'

Despite a rough past with lineup issues, Super Junior has no harsh feelings against two of the members that have been absent from the group since 2009.

On July 15, five members of Super Junior appeared on MBC's "Radio Star" to discuss their new album, "Devil." During the episode, Super Junior discussed the possibility of welcoming back on-hiatus member Kim Kibum and one member's run in with former member Hankyung (Hangeng.)

"Radio Star" host Kim Gu Ra raised the topic of the two members of Super Junior's original lineup, and caused initial discomfit but Super Junior talked about the sensitive issues.

Both Kibum and Hankyung last officially appeared with Super Junior in 2009. Hankyung left SM Entertainment  after filing a contract nullification, while Kibum went inactive to focus on his acting creer. However, Super Junior's comments on the episode revealed that there were no hard feelings.

"Kim Kibum is still a member of Super Junior," said Super Junior's Eunhyuk, speaking for the group. "More than being a singer, his goal is to be an actor so he doesn't promote as a singer. If he has an intention of being a singer, we are of the mind to accept his return."

Super Junior said that Kibum was considered as being on extended leave from Super Junior.

Regarding Hankyung, Yesung told a story about running into his former groupmate at a clothing sale and talked about their friendly conversation.

"Honestly, it was nice to see him," said Yesung. "We were friends. He even said, 'it's been a while. How have you been? Let's get food sometimes.'"

"Devil" was released on July 16 as a special comemorative album celebrating Super Junior's tenth anniversary.
