What's The Secret Behind SHINee's Rolling Stand Mics? 'Made Of Aircraft Material'

Idol group SHINee, for their new song, "Dream Girl," performed with metal stand mics, rolling, riding and twisting it. It seemed to be a mystery on how they play around with it so well while singing live when stand mics are known to be heavy.

The secret behind it was aircraft material. The stand mics were made with second duralumin, which is material used to make aircraft. This material makes the stand mics much lighter, making it easy to perform with. According to their agency, SM Entertainment, the stand mics SHINee members used on stage were made through 3 different processes, ending up with the stand mics made with aircraft material.

Their first try was made with stainless steel, but it was still too heavy. One representative said, "In order to reduce the weight, we used duralumin, reducing the weight by 1/3."

SHINee has been catching much attention with their unique and attention-grabbing performance with stand mics.
