BTS' Rap Monster Allegedly Receives Death Threat In New York City

Boy band BTS headed to New York this week in order to kick off their "The Red Bullet" tour in the United States. However, due to an alleged threat on Twitter, where one person claimed to have a gun and be attending the concert with the intention of killing Rap Monster, the concert seemed to end earlier than it should have. Fan events, including a hi-touch, were cancelled and fans of BTS were unable to meet their favorite idols in person.

Tao To Release Music in China This Month

The missing in action member of SM Entertainment's EXO and EXO-M shared the news on Weibo that he will drop his first solo mini album later this month in China. Tao has not been promoted with EXO in several months, and SM Entertainment has claimed that it is in talks with Tao regarding his future in the boy band. He is the third member of EXO to pursue a solo career in China outside the bounds of his contract with SM Entertainment.

Girls' Generation Wins 100 Weekly Music Show Awards

For the first time in history, a K-pop act won 100 awards on Korean weekly music shows. Girls' Generation's song "Party" won multiple awards this week, including on KBS2's "Music Bank." During their acceptance speech, the members of Girls' Generation revealed that it was the hundredth award that they won at a weekly music show. They won their first award in 2007.
