Black Eyed Peas New Music Video Ripped Off? Fergie Angry For Not Being Included?

The Black Eyed Peas just leaked online last Friday their new music. Another artist though has insisted the group reportedly copied the concept of her music video.

In a report on Spin, the video was described as showing artists will.i-.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo gracing the covers of old vinyls of some rap legends for their music video for "Yesterday." But the report also said, the said concept has been seen before in Erykah Badu's music video "Honey" in 2007.

Badu even took to Facebook to jokingly threaten will.i.am over it, according to themusic.com.au.

"I think The Black Eyed Peas borrowed my idea a Lil lol," Badu wrote on Facebook. "I'm gone beat up will.i.am."

Badu also said in the Facebook post that she wrote and directed the video for "Honey" and even got a Video Music Award for it.

"Flattered," she also said in the post. "Cute video nonetheless."

The Black Eyed Peas has yet to react to Badu's statement.

Aside from the video concept, netizens also noticed Fergie's absence in the video. According to the Huffington Post, Fergie's absence may be explained by the music and concept behind The Black Eyed Peas new music that launches their 20th anniversary celebration. The video reportedly tells of a time when Fergie was not yet part of BEP. The group got together in the 1990s and Fergie came in more than a decade later at the time they started gaining fame.

Fergie even sent out a tweet to show that it's all good in the BEP world.

"Dope," she tweeted about the new BEP music video.

Fergie though has expressed earlier this year that she might not be part of BEP's anniversary celebration or a possible album in line with this.

"I heard something will was doing and it was great," she told Digital Spy in January. "But maybe the guys are doing something? I haven't been in the group for 20 years, so it's more their anniversary of being together for 20 years. So maybe they're putting out an album themselves."
