Girls' Generation's Taeyeon Takes Action Against Malicious Cyberbullies

Girls' Generation's Taeyeon declared war against her cyberbullies.

Taeyeon, a member of one of South Korea's most popular girl groups, took to Instagram on July 20 and wrote a post stating that she would take action against anti-fans writing hateful comments aimed her. The post has since been removed from her Instagram.

"I've been collecting hateful comments for a long time, and I will be taking legal action now," the post read prior to being removed.

X Sports News said that Taeyeon is working with her agency, SM Entertainment, to find a way to stop the viscous comments against her.

"I am looking at all of you right now," Taeyeon's message began. "For some time now, my family, acquaintances, and fans have been hurt by the malicious comments against me. Many people have asked me to take legal action, and my fan site actively provided me with a lot of help. For me too [it has been hard,] but more than that my heart hurts like it is burning from seeing my loved ones get stressed."

"After consulting with my agency [SM Entertainment] a few months ago, I have been collecting written and visual proof of the malicious comments," she continued. "The legal process has begun, but I plan to add to it. If any of my fans have proof, please send it to me so that we can compile everything."

"I am sorry for making you feel the same pain as I have felt all this time, and I'm grateful to those who have provided support and taken the initiative," Taeyeon added. "I thought that I was strong before, but after his incident I feel like I will be come stronger. SONEs [Girls' Generation's fanclub], let's enjoy the party as we always have!"

The last line is a reference to Girls' Generation's latest single, "Party."

Taeyeon taking legal action comes on the heels of a series of rumors and online bullying relating to the singer's relationship with EXO's Baekhyun and Taeyeon's attitude during promotion periods, particularly the way she appeared during a recent performance on July 19 on SBS's "Inkigayo."

Along with comments about her relationship and attitude, Taeyeon has reportedly received death threats in comments on social media.

Many Korean stars are active on Instagram, including Taeyeon, who opened up the account in order to connect with her fans.
