Lee Hi Returns Without Any Second Year- Jinx, 'Album to be of Quality, Without Caring About Chart Ranks or Popularity'

Rookie monster Lee Hi swept the various chart with her first solo album First Love released on March 7 completely missing the second year jinx.

The singer aims to continue her reign as the biggest rookie of the year as she comes back with a new album in just six months followed by debut single "1,2,3,4" that dominated the charts in the second-half of last year.

Solo album titled First Love is released as a digital only mini-album with the title song "It's Over" featuring 5 songs, including the title.

The title song "It's Over" currently is ranked number 1 on major music charts, the five tracks are ranked 1-5 on Bugs.

Lee Hi's huge success in the new album released is due to the full material and emotional support of YG Entertainment rep Yang Hyun Suk. He had previously shared regarding the new direction in an interview, "I wanted Lee Hi's first solo album to be of quality, without caring about chart ranks or popularity."

Therefore this album was produced by top producers of YG such as Teddy, CHOICE 37, Robin and more. Also one of the songs "Special" will be featuring a member of YG's new girl group, Jenny Kim. In addition to the enormous amount of money invested in the music video, it features parodies certain YG artists. The cute giant bear that is accompanied in the music video gained a lot of interest from Big Bang fans.

Following her retro soul song "1,2,3,4" many are excited to see how she will take on jazz music and rhythm and blues that is rarely covered in K-Pop.

A YG representative added, "This new challenge won′t be easy, but if this album is received well by music fans, then Lee Hi will be able to settle down completely. We expect the songs to diversify the number of genres in K-Pop, just like 1,2,3,4 did."

Roughly two weeks later, the remaining songs from full album is set to release on March 21 featuring 10 songs, along with another title track "Rose."
