E Sens Sentenced To 1.5 Years In Prison For 2nd Marijuana Offense

South Korean rapper E Sens has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of marijuana use.

The Seoul Western District Court sentenced E Sens (real name Kang Min Ho) to one and a half years in jail on July 22. In addition to the jail sentence, the rapper is also required to pay a 550,000 won (approximately $478 USD) fine according to Soompi.

"The defendant [Kang Min Ho] admitted to all of the charges and was found guilty," the department of justice said in a report by OSEN. "He was on probation for the same crime when this recent incident occurred. Two counts of marijuana purchase and usage is not a light crime. Even while being investigated he continued to commit the same offense. He seems unrepentant," they said.

This is not the first time E Sens has been found guilty of marijuana use. In 2011 he was accused of using and in 2012 he was sentenced to a one year and two months sentence along with two years of probation. While still serving probation, he was caught again this past April and arrested.

E Sens was once a member of Supreme Team, a hip-hop duo signed under Amoeba Culture. While serving his original sentence, his contract with Amoeba Culture was terminated and E Sens started to pursue a solo career. The other member of Supreme Team, Simon Dominic, joined with Jay Park as co-CEO of AOMG.
