On July 9, Girls' Generation was announced as one of several groups in contention for "Choice International Artist" at the upcoming Teen Choice Awards next month.

With voting coming to a close by 12:00 PM PST on July 24, Girls' Generation members expressed their deepest gratitude to the nomination body and their fans for the recognition.

The honor of being selected as a nominee for the Teen Choice Awards 2015 was especially significant for leader Taeyeon.

"I grew up watching the #teenchoice awards! Amazed & thankful to even be nominated. All my love xx thank you," said Taeyeon on her Instagram.

The Teen Choice Awards will air on Sunday, August 16 on FOX channel.

Voting is only open to teens aged 13 to 19 living in the United States, with only 1 vote per Facebook account per day allowed for each category.

Girls' Generation fans are doubling their efforts to push the girl group at the top of the voting pile to beat fellow nominees like 2NE1 and Super Junior. The "International Artist" award is even more highly contested because this is the first of its kind given out at the Teen Choice Awards.

Supporters can either through visiting the official website and casting a vote there, or posting on various social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram with the prescribed hashtag such as "My #TeenChoice for #ChoiceInternationalArtist is #GirlsGeneration!"
