‘Spider-Man’ Reboot Writers Says They Will ‘Avoid The Emo Dance’ From 2007’s ‘Spider-Man 3’

"Vacation" writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein says there will be no dancing for Peter Parker in the "Spider-Man" film reboot, according to a report on Cinemablend.

It was revealed that Tom Holland will be taking on the role of the reboot's younger version of Peter Parker opposite Marisa Tomei who will be playing Aunt May. Other than that, according to The Independent, Daley and Goldstein also confirmed that they were tasked to pen the script, not to mention the fact that Jon Watts is slated to helm, but little is known about what the plot is going to be.

However, Daley and Goldstein revealed one thing: there will be no dancing for the new Peter Parker.

During an interview with USA Today's Entertain This! for the promotion of their latest project, "Vacation," the writers were asked if Holland will also be showing off his dance moves like Tobey Maguire did in 2007's "Spider-Man 3," they said no.

"I think we're going to avoid the emo dance from 'Spider-Man 3'," Daley said.

According to Cinemablend, since the third installment in the Maguire version is considered to be the worst "Spider-Man" films there is, it is safe if the reboot would stay away from its influence.

For those who don't remember it, in the film, when Peter Parker began using theblack suit which was infected with the alien symbiote, his powers became stronger, but his personality began to suck, leading to his breakup with Mary Jane. To make her jealous, he showed off his dancing skills with his date, Gwen Stacey, at the jazz pub where the former female works - and it's a cringe-worthy scene.

Now, since Daley and Goldstein said no dancing for Peter Parker, then it's safe to say that Holland will not be freaking viewers out by suddenly dancing out of the blue.

On the one hand, Cinemablend adds that the writers specified that the reboot will not begin with an origin story as opposed to the first trilogy and the Andrew Garfield version.

Other than that, Daley explained, "We have time to sort of develop the powers with him, and experience the wish fulfillment and also the fact that it's really alienating to have Spidey skills," adding that the plot will be more grounded in nature with Peter Parker depicted as an outcast geek in high school.
