Weekly Idol fans, get ready to have some fan favorite girl groups take over as guests for the show!

A report by E-Daily revealed that Girls' Generation will be making their first appearance on MBC Every1's popular variety show since their debut in 2007. Industry insiders confirmed the eight member girl group's appearance on the show on July 29.

The recording is said to take place within the next week and the episode is scheduled to air around the middle of August.

E-Daily explained that the air date was intended to match up with Girls' Generation's upcoming full-length album promotions.

Before Girls' Generation, however, fans are eager to see four member powerhouse group MAMAMOO make their first time appearance on Weekly Idol as well. Herald Pop reported that the girls filmed their episode on July 28 which included popular segments like "random dance play," where guests are challenged to dance their own choreographies at random intervals.

Although MAMAMOO has been incredibly active since their debut in 2014 this marks their first time on the variety show. MAMAMOO have risen to fame with their interesting concepts and strong vocals, especially with their recent comeback for "Um Ah Oh Yeah."

With male idol groups often dominating the Korean pop scene, it will be refreshing to see some female idols take over the entertainment program. Which groups are you most excited to see?
