Neal Moritz, who is also adapting the film "Goosebumps," recently told Screen Rant "We're trying to do what we always do, which is try to come at it from a character point of view and figure out where the characters would go from here.

"I think the thing that's made 'The Fast and the Furious' special is obviously we have incredible action and so on. But the thing that people relate to the most is the character. We're lucky that we have a lot of great characters."

Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner died during the making of "Fast & Furious 7," his scenes were finished using CGI and his brother Cody.

"Unfortunately, we don't have Paul anymore. His character... has moved on," Moritz told Screen Rant. "But we feel like there's a lot still to be mined. That's where we're restarting. We're really talking about the characters, where they all sit right now. It's a huge challenge."

Cody Walker is rumored to star "Fast & Furious 8" as a brand new character. The upcoming film will feature Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and Michelle Rodriguez..

Universal Studios is reportedly now considering Australian actress Ruby Rose to become part of the upcoming "Fast & Furious 8."

Eva Mendes will be reuniting with Vin Diesel on "Fast & Furious 8," does that spell trouble for Toretto and Michelle Rodriguez's character, Letty Ortiz? Mendes confirmed that Letty Ortiz was alive during the post-credits of "Fast & Furious 5" in 2011.
