Lee Changmin Leaves JYP Entertainment And Rouses Concern Over 2AM’s Future

2AM's Lee Changmin left JYP Entertainment (hereinafter JYP) upon contract expiration to discuss possible future partnership with Big Hit Entertainment. Big Hit Entertainment is known for managing 2AM and being an agency of popular artists such as BTS, 8eight's Lee Hyun, and David Oh.

Other 2AM members Seulong and Jinwoon left JYP in March and April of this year to sign with Sidus HQ and Mystic Entertainment. Their decisions were based on Seulong's desire to further his career in acting and Jinwoon's wish to continue his career in a band. Jo Kwon is the only 2AM member left at JYP.

Lee Chanmin debuted in 2008 as a 2AM member. He then expanded his activities to musicals, reality shows, and DJing. Lee Changmin and Lee Hyun also released several albums together under the duo name Homme.

In the midst of Lee Changmin's search for a new agency, voices of concern toward 2AM's uncertain future began surfacing. Many fans also expressed their anger and frustration toward JYP's ability to manage and utilize artists' talents.

However, JYP responded by stating, "Each member might belong to another agency, but that is a separate matter from 2AM's future activities. When opportunities come, they can always sing and continue their career as 2AM."
