The Korean entertainment industry lost two talented singers this past week.

Following the death of the lead vocalist of Korean rock band Broken Valentine, came the news of another rock singer's death. On August 3, Do Eun Young passed away due to unknown circumstances.

Do had recently set off to make a comeback into the Korean music scene with a remake of Yeon Gyu Sung's "Sad Song."

Yeon spoke about Do and the song on his personal social media account following the news of her death.

"Do Eun Young, who was a great singer, whom I really loved, passed away yesterday," Yeon wrote on August 4. "We've been working together since 'Audition Box,' and to make a new beginning she remade my song, "Sad Song." [She] had even recorded and shot the music video for it, and was just waiting to announce the release. When I saw her just a few days ago, she was smiling brightly and we recorded together. It is hard to believe [that she has passed away]. Those who adored and love Eun Young, please pray that she will pass on comfortable. Her funeral will be held at Anyang's Sam Hospital. Today is a tragic day."

The singer debuted in 2005 with "I'll Pray" for the soundtrack of the MBC drama, "Be Strong, Geum-soon!" and released her first digital album, "Carmen," in 2007. In 2012, she gained popularity from an appearance on tvN's "Super Diva 2012."

The cause of Do's death is still unconfirmed, but the Korean show, "One Night of Entertainment," reported that it was caused by an accidental overdose on sleeping pills. While appearing on "Super Diva 2012," Do spoke about suffering from severe depression, due to the difficulties of her career path and a lawsuit with her previous agency.
