iKON To Hold 12 Fan Meetings In October Before Official Debut In Japan

Upcoming YG Entertainment boy band iKON will be holding solo fan meetings from October 10 to 27 in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka for a total of 12 concerts before making their official debut in Japan. This is their first solo event in Japan since last October.

iKON is a seven member group under YG Entertainment that was chosen through a survival audition program called “Mix & Match."

Prior to their Japanese promotions, the group will make their official debut in Korea next month.

Fans showed a lot of excitement for their upcoming debut.

“I’m happy that these boys are finally going to debut!” wrote WinYGWin posted Thursday to the Korean news website Allkpop. “But only two weeks of promotions in Korea? This is a debut Mr. YG.”

Others anticipated their promotions in Japan as well.

“Oh my god! Please fly me to Japan!” wrote another commenter, aaanneee.

Last Saturday, the group appeared on a Naver lifestream with fellow label mates WINNER.

Naver LIVE V is an app that allows artists and fans to interact with one another in real-time. This was the first time for both groups to appear on the new broadcasting app.

iKON was first introduced through “Who Is Next: WIN” and “Mix & Match” and will make their debut this year after Big Bang completes their "MADE" album releases on September 1.

iKON members Bobby and B.I have received much attention from the public after their appearances on Mnet's rap survival program “Show Me The Money.”

YG Entertainment made a sudden announcement that iKON would debut on September 15, but many fans showed concern as they had previously mentioned a different date before.

YG revealed that they plan to release many of their artists this fall with iKON, Psy and Big Bang.
