Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber may reunite after all if the rumors about their "The Voice" season 9 appearance are true.
As told by Us Weekly a week ago, the "Same Old Love" singer has apparently been chosen to become a mentor for the upcoming season of the show. It was even revealed that she's impressed everyone in how she's handling it.
"She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she's so young," a source shared. "She exceeded everyone's expectations."
Gomez will reportedly be working with show judge Gwen Stefani. Artists such as John Fogerty, Brad Paisley and Missy Elliot will seemingly be working meanwhile with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams, respectively.
NBC has yet to confirm though the truth in the reports. Aside from Selena Gomez's possible "The Voice" season 9 appearance, Justin Bieber was also reportedly being tapped for the show as reported by Hollywood Life in May.
"This last season of 'The Voice' had its finale be the least rated ever and Mark Burnett has taken notice," a source told Hollywood Life back then. "He wants to mix it up to get ratings up and get younger viewers to watch the show."
"One of the seats the show wants to fill is [with] Justin Bieber," the source added then.
On June 11 though, the show and NBC formally announced that Shelton, Levine, Stefani and Williams were the upcoming season's judges quashing hopes of fans.
"With such an astounding group of coaches at the peak of their musical ingenuity and Carson returning as our host, we are thrilled for what season nine will bring," NBC entertainment president of alternative and latenight programming Paul Telegdy told Variety then. "The expertise and camaraderie of this panel will provide an immeasurable experience for the artists and must-see entertainment for all who are watching."
Fans and viewers will find out if Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber may appear on the show when "The Voice" season 9 gets back on air Sept. 21.
