K-Pop News Weekly Top 3: Sulli Departs f(x), Wonder Girls Comeback, Jessica Jung Leaves SM Entertainment

The K-pop girl group world was shaken up this week with big news from two SM artists and a major comeback from one of the most beloved groups.

Wonder Girls "Reboot" Career With Band Concept

After three years of hiatus since former leader Sun (Sunye) got married, iconic K-pop girl group Wonder Girls made a comeback this past week with the album, "Reboot," featuring the song "I Feel You."

Returning with four members (Yeeun, Yoobin, Hye Lim, and Sunmi) and a brand new band concept, Wonder Girls proved their prowess as one of South Korea's favorite girl groups and returned to Korean music charts. The comeback saw the return of former member Sunmi to the Wonder Girls, and the departure of Sunye and Ahn Sohee.

SM Entertainment and Jessica Jung Part Ways

Following the departure of Girls' Generation's Jessica Jung from the group in 2014, this week SM Entertainment and Jung announced that the two would be parting ways. Following her time in the girl group, arguably South Korea's most popular act today, Jung remained signed under SM Entertainment while focusing on personal activities, including promoting her fashion line. This week saw the end to that relationship, with Jessica proclaiming a "new start."

Her side has also denied that she is working on a new album as a soloist, despite rumors.

f(x)'s Sulli Formally Leaves Group

Shortly after announcing the end of Jessica Jung's relationship with the company, SM Entertainment announced that Choi Sulli would no longer be a member of f(x) but would pursue career as an actress. A child actress, Choi went on hiatus from f(x) activities after a string of rumors relating to her personal life and relationship with Dynamic Duo's Choiza.

f(x) will continue as a four member act.
