"My Little Pony" Movie Gets A Big Name Signed On, What Will The Ponies Discover This Time?

A "My Little Pony" movie is in the works and they got someone special to join the cast.

"My Little Pony" is more popularly known as the unicorn or pony toys with pastel colored manes and tails. From its debut in 1981, it became very popular and inspired an animated specials and the like. However, the popularity of the franchise didn't boom until it was rebooted in the 2010s.

The "My Little Pony" movie for Hasbro's Allspark pictures will center on the "Mane 6" ponies that have been together throughout the "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" series. According to the official plot description on , Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity must battle a new evil force that is threatening Ponyville.  They journey beyond Equestria on a quest to save their home.

Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain, and Ashleigh Ball will be reprising their roles for the film after voicing the characters in the animated series, as reported by Cinema Blend.

According to Digital Spy, The cast will be welcoming a new cast member Kristin Chenoweth. She is well known for playing Glinda in Wicked, and is also a Tony & Emmy Award winning actress as well. While she may have a number of theatre, films, and television credits under her belt, the petite actress is known for her unique voice as well.

There is no news yet on the brand new character she will be lending her voice to.

The "My Little Pony" movie is currently in production and will be released in 2017.
