Girls' Generation's YoonA's Relationship With Lee Seung Gi End Relationship

One of the most popular celebrity couples of the K-pop world came to an end this week, after the news broke that K-pop idol YoonA and actor-singer Lee Seung Gi had broken up. Reports claimed that the two broke up due to their busy schedule. Girls' Generation's agency, SM Entertainment, released a statement saying that the two remained friends despite the break up.

Shortly after the news was released, fans speculated that the pair broke up due to Lee's impending enlistment in the South Korean army.

Billboard's Fan Army Face-Off Leads To Twitter Battle Between K-Pop and One direction Fans

Billboard's website launched a competition to discover which celebrity fandom is the largest, and the fans of K-pop girl group T-ara ended up in the final round, competing against Beyonce's Beyhive fandom. While Queens, T-ara's fans, and K-pop fans in general rejoiced, there was much criticism from fans of the British boy band One Direction. Mudslinging came from both sides, and Billboard eventually had to state that the voting was not fixed nor had Queens hacked the system.

The battle on Twitter, both prior to and after Queens' win, led to multiple trends trending worldwide on Twitter.

2NE1's CL Releases First English-Language Music Video For American Market

CL, the leader and rapper of YG Entertainment girl group 2NE1, released her first English language song earlier this year, but this week brought about the music video for "Doctor Pepper." The music video for the song, a collaboration track between CL, Diplo, RiFF RAFF, and OG Maco, featured all four musicians.

"Doctor Pepper" was released in anticipation of CL's first album aimed at breaking into the American music market.
