Sarah Michelle Gellar And Freddie Prinze Jr. Teaching Kids About Equality Early, Details Here!

Sarah Michelle Gellar and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. want to raise their kids with the mindset that everyone are equal in society.

In an interview with E! Online last week during the Crazy 8 back-to-school event, the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alum said she and Prinze split parent duties equally to set an example for their children.

"I mean, I think that that's how you have to raise children today, as you want them to be independent and want them to see in our society that there is no difference between men and women and go from there," she explained.

The mother of two also said that she wants to deviate from the stereotype roles that mothers and fathers were subjected in the past.

"I think it's really important that everything gets shared," Gellar told Latina in an interview in the same event. "I think that as parents you want to raise children that aren't necessarily gender aware."

"It shouldn't be 'this is what mommy does and this is what daddy does' and the only way to stop that preconceived notion is to show them that everybody does everything," the former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star added about parenting. "Mommy drops off at school some days and sometimes daddy drops off at school. Sometimes mommy makes dinner and sometimes daddy makes dinner."

But although Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. have gone modern in the way they raise daughter Charlotte age six and son Rocky age three, the actress admitted Prinze was still sometimes stuck in the past when it comes to other things.

"He wants to know when we're buying our Trapper Keepers," she was quoted in saying by PopSugar. "I was like, 'Sweetheart, you're old, we don't have Trapper Keepers anymore.' We're showing our age."

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. met when they worked together on "I Know What You Did Last Summer" as told by ABC News. They have been married for 13 years.
