Ladies' Code Plan 1st Single Release Since Tragic Accident Took The Lives Of 2 Members Last Year

This month heralds a bittersweet comeback from one of South Korea's idol groups.

Korean girl group Ladies' Code announced that they will release a new song 11 months after a tragedy that took the lives of two members. The three surviving members of Ladies' Code will perform a new song at a memorial concert for deceased members EunB and RiSe on August 22.

The song is titled "I'll Smile Even If It Hurts," and will be the first time the three survivors perform since the September 3 accident.

The poignantly named song was written and composed in part by member Sojung, and Ladies' Code's agency, Polaris Music, revealed that the members had a hard time thinking of performing.

"Ashley, Sojung, and Zuny had a hard time and cried while preparing for the concert because of past memories with the other members," Polaris said in a statement. "But because it is a concert that is commemorating RiSe and EunB, the members decided to put in all of the strength that they had to prepare. They show bravery deciding to performing despite the hardships and the pressures of stepping onto stage for the first time since the passing of their members."

On September 3, 2014, Ladies' Code was involved in a fatal car accident that resulted in the deaths of members EunB and RiSe. A memorial concert will be held in Tokyo, Japan, on August 22, allegedly to fulfill a wish of Korean Japanese member RiSe.

"I'll Smile Even If It Hurts" will officially be released on September 7.
