Disney's 'Jungle Cruise' Movie Is An Upcoming Theme Ride-Turned-Film, Dwayne Johnson On Board For The Adventure

Disney’s upcoming “Jungle Cruise” movie stars Dwayne Johnson.

Disney has a number of different feature films that have gained the love of fans both old and young. However, not all of the films that were produced by Disney have been a hit. The recent amusement park ride turned film “Tomorrowland” flopped at the box office despite the expectations of fans.

Another amusement attraction from Disney’s Parks will be made into a film, and a Hollywood star has signed on to make it come to life. According to IGN, This would be Disney’s third attempt in making a movie based on one of its attractions.

The “Jungle Cruise” movie is the new Disney movie that has signed on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Many Disney babies and park visitors are familiar with the “Jungle Cruise” attraction. It is based in Adventureland and is a slow theme ride that anybody can enjoy.

This classic ride opened back in 1955 and it simulates a riverboat cruise complete with a humorous tour guide and sightseeing. It is one of Disneyland’s original rides and has a retro adventure feel. The riverboat cruises down several major rivers of Africa, South America and Asia on an amusing trip past different audio-animatronic jungle animals.

The project is currently in early development mode, but EW reported that Jon Requa and Glenn Ficarra are set to write Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” movie screenplay. The tandem of Requa and Ficarra have written several movies together such as “Focus” and “Crazy, Stupid Love.”

There is no announcement on who will direct the film, nor are there any plot details revealed.
