YG Entertainment Launches Actor Management Project 'YG Stage'

One Korean entertainment company is entering new ground.

Earlier this month, South Korea's YG Entertainment released mysterious teaser images. On August 19, YG Entertainment launched YG Stage, a subsidiary meant to promote the company's actors.

YG Entertainment kicked off YG Stage with promotional images of actor Nam Joo Hyuk.

While YG Entertainment has made its name as one of the largest music production agencies in South Korea, but also has numerous actors and entertainers signed to the label.

YG Stage's official website lists twenty-seven actors, including Im Ye Jin, Cha Seung Won, Gu Hye Sun, 2NE1's Dara, Choi Ji Woon, Big Bang's T.O.P, Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo In N. YG Entertainment also has entertainers Yoo Byung Jae and Ahn Young Mi signed under its auspices.

The new company began promotions with actor Nam Joo Hyuk, who has stared in "Surplus Princess" and "Who Are You- School 2015." He will appear later this year in the TvN drama, "Cheese In The Trap."

YG Stage is the second subsidiary agency that YG Entertainment began in 2015. Earlier this year, the company announced that hip-hop trip Epik High will lead a new indie label, HIGHGRND, led by the group's Tablo. HIGHGRND signed the popular indie band Hyukoh to the label in July.

The entertainment megahouse also has begun to invest in fashion and beauty, and the company behind fashion brand Louis Vuitton (LVMH Group) has invested in YG Entertainment.

The Korean industry continues to grow, and as it does so, so does YG.
