'Food Wars' Anime Gets Body Pillow Merchandise For Male Cast Members
Body pillows with a picture of your favorite anime character is nothing new in the world of anime.
But usually there's definite pandering to male fans of a series, by often choosing to depict female characters on the pillows.
Girls who like "Food Wars" are however going to get some pandering of their own.
Today several body pillow designs for the "Food Wars" anime series was revealed. The pillows, which go on sale in October, for once actually feature some of the main male characters from the series. The pillows specifically feature Soma, Takumi, and Kojiro.
So far, fans in an ANN forum are very impressed by the idea of male themed body pillows:
"This is the first time I've see one of these boys version hug pillows. The Souma one looks really cool... and hot," said Silver4000.
The "Food Wars" anime series is directed by Yoshitomo Yonetani with series composition by Shogo Yasukawa. The character designs are by Tomoyuki Shitaya. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the series outside of Japan.

The "Food Wars" anime, which was originally created by Yuto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki, is described by Crunchyroll as follows:
"The story centers on Yukihira Soma, a middle school student who is determined to surpass his father's culinary skills. One day, his father decides to close down their family restaurant and hone his skills in Europe. Before leaving he enrolls Soma in an elite culinary school that is extremely difficult to enter with a graduation rate of only 10 percent. Will Souma be able to improve his skills, or will the kitchen prove to be too hot?"
