Lee Hi To Make Her Return Under Tablo's New Label HIGHGRND

Soloist Lee Hi will make a comeback under a new agency.

Lee, who debuted under YG Entertainment in 2013, will reportedly make a return to the Korean music scene under HIGHGRND, a new YG subsidiary label run by Epik High's Tablo. Korean news outlet Osen reported that HIGHGRND will handle Lee's comeback due to YG Entertainment's focus on Big Bang, Psy, and iKON.

"Mr. Yang is too busy, and he was worried Lee Hi will not be getting the attention she deserves from him," a YG Entertainment representative told Osen.  "So, he asked Tablo to take over preparations for Lee Hi's comeback since Mr. Yang thinks highly of his producing skills."

Yang has shown affection for Lee in the past, due to her exemplary performance skills and career. Lee Hi was chosen to join YG by Yang after she appeared on "K-Pop Star" in 2012. She debuted in 2012 with the album "First Love," and has taken part in two YG Entertainment project groups since that time.

The source allegedly denied Lee Hi formally becoming a HIGHGRND artist, but stated that she is still signed to YG Entertainment. Tablo was approached by Yang to produce Lee Hi's album due to his skill as a producer. Tablo reportedly accepted the offer to prepare Lee Hi's comeback, and preparations are under way.

This is not the first time that Tablo and Lee Hi will work together. Lee Hi was featured on Epik High's 2012 song, "It's Cold."

HIGHGRND did not formally announce Lee's comeback, but earlier this month shared a picture on Instagram that showed Lee Hi at HIGHGRND's offices.

Lee Hi is the second artist HIGHGRND is working with since its inauguration in July; the company previously signed indie band Hyukoh. Lee's album will be the first album officially released by HIGHGRND.
