Profile Of A K-Pop Fan: 21-Year-Old Texan Kellie Barrow Thinks GOT7 Make Her Life Whole

NAME: Kellie Barrow

AGE: 21

HOME: Texas, USA

CURRENTLY: Freelancer

INTRO TO K-POP: "I found the Wonder Girls video 'So Hot' when I was 15. At the time, I was really into J-pop, but I wasn't familiar with K-pop. After that, I looked up other groups and, bam! I fell in love with K-pop."

THE DIFFERENCE: "The music isn't boring with overused tempos. In K-pop, people can sing extremely well. I also like how K-pop brings back older styles of music, like the '80s."

CULTURAL MISUNDERSTANDINGS: "I'm not sure if this would count as a misunderstanding, but a lot of people used to make fun of me for listening to K-pop. They thought it was stupid that I listen to music I couldn't understand. Then, when PSY became popular here, they suddenly liked it too. It's weird how they jumped the boat when it wasn't popular, and they're riding the waves now that it is."

WHY GOT7: "I was originally a huge fan of [pre-debut group] JJ Project before GOT7. When I heard that JB and JR were going to be in a seven-member group, I followed GOT7, and I'm glad that I did. GOT7 is dorky, down to Earth, playful, and so amazingly talented! Whenever I feel down or upset, I listen to their songs and feel at peace again. I guess you could say GOT7 makes my life whole."

WHY HyunA: "I like how HyunA isn't afraid to be sexy, yet she also knows how to bring it when it comes to hip-hop dancing. Also, her voice is addicting."
