Terrence Howard is not only having problems with his on screen wife but also in real life. Rumors abuzz that his "Empire" season 2 career is in trouble because of the current real-life drama he's involved in.

According to a report on Page Six, the show will be taking advantage of his character Lucious Lyon being behind bars to diminish his appearance on the show. It was even mentioned that putting his character in jail was purportedly planned in the first place.

"What they are doing is two-fold," an insider told the source above. "They have him locked up so you won't be seeing him in as many scenes."

The huge number of A-list guest stars for "Empire" season 2 was also reportedly meant to make Terrence Howard's slow disappearance low key.

"But they are bringing in so many, and I mean so many, guest stars and cameos that the average viewer won't realize it because there is so much going on," the insider added.

Fox has yet to address the rumor and even Howard's camp has yet to comment about it.

In the past months, the actor has been hit by real-life drama involving his ex-wives as reported by New York Daily News. Earlier this month, it was revealed that he and third wife Mira Pak have divorced earlier this year. Just last month, his second ex-wife Michelle Ghent sued him again for abuse over a 2013 incident in Costa Rica.

But while Howard's Lucious Lyon character takes the back seat, Taraji P. Henson's Cookie Lyon, on the other hand, will apparently take over this upcoming season.

"She's going to start dropping off from the flashback scenes and then they're going to have her guns blazing," a source was quoted in saying by Mail Online.

A new love will be blooming for Cookie as well in the form of Adam Rodriguez. Henson revealed in an interview with Extra TV recently that she's excited to work with him since they've had chemistry in their previous work together.

Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson's "Empire" season 2 will be back on air on Sept. 23.
