A surprise K-Pop sibling connection has been discovered: YG trainee and Unpretty Rapstar 2 contestant Moon Soo Ah has been revealed to be the sister of ASTRO's Moonbin.

Naver broke this exclusive news, but since the brother and sister are largely unknown, the reveal proved to be underwhelming for many K-Pop fans.

Some of the harsher commenters wondered what was so newsworthy about the siblings. There was even speculation that highlighting the sibling connection was part of a "media play" to promote one or both of the idols.

"Is something 'exclusive' worthy when no one even knows who either of them are?" "Don't know either of them and she's still a trainee. I'm starting to see what's going on here," said critics on Naver News.

On August 24, Moon Soo Ah was announced to be joining the official lineup of Unpretty Rapstar 2 together with underground rappers Heize, ASH-B and Treudy and established idols such as Wonder Girls' Yubin and SISTAR's Hyorin, among other contestants.

Moon Soo Ah's entry into the lineup has drawn its fair share of criticism as fans believe she will gain a lot of advantage, as seen by the popularity of her fellow YG label mates, iKON's Bobby and WINNER's Mino, who respectively won Show Me the Money 3 and became the runner-up for Show Me the Money 4.

Meanwhile, Moonbin debuted as part of ASTRO in mid-August through a headlining appearance on the Naver TVcast web series To Be Continued.
