Big Bang Earns Distinction As Most Popular K-Pop Act On V App 1 Month After Launch

Big Bang has emerged as the most popular K-Pop account on V App, the real-time celebrity broadcasting app, having accumulated more than 723,000 fans since the app released on August 1, reports The Korea Herald.

Big Bang held a special broadcast on V App in August as part of their new album promotions, and this likely helped the popular boy group gather the most fans among the more than 30 K-Pop groups and agencies that have created accounts on the app.

V App allows fans to interact with their favorite K-Pop idols through live broadcasts.

Big Bang's fan count on V App could also spike in September as individual members host special broadcasts starting with G-Dragon on September 2 and Taeyang on September 9.

Following Big Bang in the V App popularity rankings is another boy group BTS which have accumulated around 612,000 fans, which is an impressive showing for a group that only debuted in 2013. BTS has managed to draw in a lot of fans due to their strong presence on the app and heavy engagement with fans through the weekly show Run BTS!

Other fan favorite V App accounts are SM Town with around 570,000 fans and YG Family, the entertainment label of Big Bang, with around 426,000 fans.

V App is proving to be a great platform for boy groups with Big Bang's junior boy groups also gaining a strong following there. WINNER, for example, has around 401,000 fans while the soon-to-debut iKON racking up around 397,000 fans.
