EXO, Wonder Girls, BTS Participate In First Korean Unification Song In Over 60 Years

Members of EXO, Wonder Girls, and BTS will be lending their voices to the first Korean unification song since 1947.

On September 1, the New Era Unification Song campaign announced the new song titled "One Dream, One Korea." According to Korea Herald, the campaign brought together domestic civic groups and Koreans living abroad with some of the most well-known names in Korean music.

"One Dream, One Korea" is composed by Kim Hyeong Seok who is known for his work on popular Korean movies like My Sassy Girl, A Perfect Match, and Typhoon. The lyrics were written by Kim Ea Na, a popular name in K-pop, who has also written top hits like the Brown Eyed Girls single "Abracadabra," IU's "You And I" and "The Red Shoes," as well as tracks for SHINee, VIXX, and Super Junior, among others.

Kim Hyeong Seok described the song as containing easy, major chords in music in order to create a bright and hopeful mood. It is also said to be a song that is easy for anyone to sing along with. "I don't think a song can solve the fundamental problem," he explained according to Korea Herald, "but if we can feel our heart beating together through music I believe it is a first step."

EXO, Wonder Girls, and BTS will be participating in the group version of the track which will feature 27 individuals and artists. In addition to the group track there will also be a duet version sung by ballad and OST singers Yangpa and Na Yoon Kwon.

"One Dream, One Korea" will be released along with its music video on September 5.
