Chen Reveals His True Feelings As A Member Of EXO

In a singing group of less than five, it's easy to distinguish yourself since five is a small number.

That is to say, if you're not a huge fan of Super Junior, it's unlikely you'll be able to name all the members if asked.

Recently EXO member Chen (Kim Jong Dae) expressed a desire to distinguish himself from the other members of his group. Specifically, after ending a run on the "King of the Masked Singer" Korean TV show, Chen stated that he wanted to be known as a singer with his own capabilities instead of in comparison to EXO.

"I have always wanted to be judged on my vocals as Chen the singer, rather than as a member of EXO. Even though I was eliminated, this stage means a lot to me," said Chen (via Koreaboo)

As for Chen's vocals, the singer received praise from show judge Kim Gura, who explained that his vocals may indeed be the most crucial in EXO.

"Chen's main vocal is probably the most important part of EXO's performances," said Gura.

Chen's run in "King of the Masked Singer" may be over, but it's likely that with his passion, he will continue to improve and gain more recognition for his personal music ability.

In the meantime, Chen and the rest of EXO are preparing for their official Japanese debut. The debut will consist of a Tokyo Dome tour and official Japanese single release.

The single is scheduled for release on Nov. 4. The dome tour entitled "EXO Planet #2 - The EXO'LuXion" will take place in Tokyo on Nov. 6-8 and in Osaka on Nov.13-15.

Though EXO are still extremely successful, their record label, SM Entertainment, is now under lawsuit from three former members of the group. Wu Yifan (Kris) and Luhan have already completed their initial court dates, while Tao just recently filed a lawsuit to terminate his contract.
