2AM's Changmin Signs With Big Hit Entertainment, Leaving Jo Kwon As Sole Holdout In JYP

The guessing game is over. 2AM member Lee Changmin, who left his longtime agency JYP Entertainment, has signed a three-year contract with Big Hit Entertainment, reports Koreaboo.

Last month, Changmin reportedly decided not to renew his contract with JYP Entertainment and rumors have been flying around in recent weeks as to which agency he will be transferring.

Changmin's contract signing with Big Hit Entertainment is a homecoming of sorts for the singer.

2AM was part of Big Hit Entertainment from 2009 to 2013, but after their contracts expired, all four members re-signed with JYP Entertainment.

Changmin follows in the footsteps of fellow 2AM members Jinwoon and Seulong who also departed from their JYP Entertainment nest after their contracts expired this year.

Jinwoon signed on with Mystic Entertainment and has expressed plans to pursue solo acting and singing activities.

Seulong, meanwhile, moved to Sidus HQ and was able to release his debut solo album in May.

With Changmin's agency change, this leaves 2AM leader Jo Kwon as the only remaining member still under JYP Entertainment. For his part, Jo Kwon has most recently starred in the Chess musical.

While it seems as though 2AM members are aggressively pursuing their individual projects, there is a cloud of concern surrounding their future as a group. But 2AM have assured fans that despite the members breaking off into different agencies, this does not mean that the group will be disbanding.
