CL's Album Included On Entertainment Weekly List Of 8 Debut Albums To Get Excited About This Fall

Anticipation grows for CL's debut into the American music market.

A week after appearing at the MTV VMA's, Korean pop star CL is gaining attention in American media. On September 2, Entertainment Weekly (EW) released their list of eight debut albums get excited about in the fall, and CL's yet-to-be-announced album was included.

EW highlighted CL's role in her "Dirty Vibe" Skrillex, G-Dragon, and Diplo collaboration as the sign of her impending domination in the American market.

"K-Pop sensation CL (Lee Chaerin) is heading stateside this fall as she releases her first EP with Mad Decent," wrote EW's Madison Vain. "She introduced herself through choice collaborations with tastemakers du jour Diplo (who doubles as Mad Decent's labelhead) and Skrillex with the frenetic dance-pop-rap mashup 'Dirty Vibe,' which featured fellow Korean G-Dragon."

Vain also highlighted the fact that CL will bring her K-pop prowess without changing her style.

"And if her prior collabs with Diplo are any indication, despite her switching to an English language performance, we won't be getting a "Westernized" version of her unique pop-rap style," ended Vain.

CL debuted as the leader of YG Entertainment girl group in 2009, and has become one of the most recognized Korean stars around the world with her recent collaborations with Diplo and Moschino's Jeremy Scott.

She released the song "Doctor Pepper" with Diplo, Riff Raff, and OG Maco in August, and has been introduced to the American music scene in several media outlets and magazine spreads. CL appeared with Scott on the September cover of Paper Magazine.

The title and release date of CL's have yet to be announced by YG Entertainment.
