The rumored duck dynasty salary dispute is out in the open.

Duck Dynasty is a hit reality-TV show on A&E, known for its bearded, camouflage-wearing, and self-described “redneck” characters with a rags to riches story.

Those characters have become recognizable breakout stars and now want more money before they return for season four.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, negotiations with the show’s talents (citing sources familiar with the talks) are in the range of up to $200,000 per episode. They are also reported to be asking for more for future seasons.

Duck Dynasty follows the lives of the Robertson family, who resides in the backwoods of Louisiana and run their family-owned business, Duck Commander, which has become a multi-million dollar operation. The business sells duck calls and duck-hunting supplies.

“A new breed of millionaires, my family,” Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson declares to ABC News’ Ryan Owens last year, continuing, “Pretty scary, huh?”

Unlike TV shows that highlight intense negative family drama and disputes, the show’s stars is proud to showcase the positive side of family life.

“I’ve seen enough train wrecks on TV, on shows, so it would be good to see a family that sits down and eats together,” says Robertson to Owens on his family’s show.

Duck Dynasty is A&E’s most watched program and its viewership is expanding. The last season alone averaged 8.2 million viewers. This statistic, according to Michael O’ Connell of the Hollywood Reporter, “makes broadcasters drool.”

Despite all the media attention received by this salary standoff, A&E is not commenting on the issue.

Such incidents, however, when the show’s stars seek for higher pay is not new to the business. Casts of “Friends” and “Jersey Shore” famously banded together at some point to negotiate for higher salaries and successfully clinched them.

The Duck Dynasty stars’ hunt for more is taken from a rulebook that has effectively captured the game for others.
