Amber Heard may not be facing jail time anytime soon after her lawyers successfully got the court to postpone the hearing at a later date. Johnny Depp's wife missed the said hearing despite being summoned by the court back in July.

According to a report on BBC, the "The Danish Girl" actress had her lawyers attend the hearing in her behalf. Despite apparently not following her summon to appear in court for not declaring her pets Boo and Pistol's entry to Australia in May, her lawyers were able to have the hearing postponed until November.

No other details about the Amber Heard court dog case was released.

According to a report on People back in July, an expert not connected to the case revealed that the "The Danish Girl" actress may only avoid the court appearance if she would hand in a guilty plea. Queensland Law Society Criminal Law Committee chair Peter Shields even said Johnny Depp's wife may avoid jail time with a guilty plea.

"Persons who have pleaded guilty in similar cases receive a fine," Shield explained then. 

Just last week, Johnny Depp joked about their dogs while at a press conference at the Venice International Film Festival after months of keeping mum on the issue.

"I killed my dogs and ate them under direct orders from some kind of, I don't know, sweaty, big-gutted man from Australia," he jokingly exclaimed on Friday as quoted by the New York Daily News.

According to the report, the actor was throwing shade at Australian Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce, who back in May spoke that Boo and Pistol would be put down if they were not flown out of Australia immediately. The dogs were flown back to the US days after Joyce's statement.

Amber Heard's court dog case hearing has been set on Nov. 2. If Johnny Depp's wife is proven guilty by then, she may serve up to 10 years in jail or pay a fine of up to $100,000 as mentioned in a report on Ace of Showbiz.
