NBA Trade Rumors: Ricky Rubio Confident He's Staying With Timberwolves?

Minnesota Timberwolves are the NBA team to watch after picking up Karl-Anthony Towns and emerging player, Andrew Wiggins. But various trade rumors claimed that Ricky Rubio will be on the way out.

It's a rumor that the Spanish point guard denied.

"I have confidence that the team wants me but you know in this league anybody can get traded. You don't listen to the rumours. You just live day-by-day and that's it," he told Gulf News.

But if it's only up to him, Ricky Rubio doesn't want to be traded to another NBA team.

He said that he could be a mentor, owing to his experience playing for the Spanish national team, to both Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, who won Rookie of the Year in the 2014-2015 season.

"They have a lot of talent. I have a little bit more experience than them that I can share. I really can teach them what I learned. They have a great future and I can help them achieve their goals," he said of the NBA trade rumors, before adding, "I like to have athletic players next to me, the way I play. It suits my game."

Ricky Rubio then went on to add, "We have a lot of young talent with a big future but we have got to start doing it because it has been a building process for the last couple of years. We have to start putting it on paper and start winning games."

Talking about Andrew Wiggins, the 6-4 playmaker, said that he was impressed by how the athletic wing was fearless by playing against the big names in the NBA such as Lebron James and never backing down.

"There are a lot of ways he can score. It is hard to stop him. If you stop one of the ways he scores, he can score in other ways," he said.

As for Karl-Anthony Towns, Ricky Rubio thinks that "he is a great player."

Watch out for more NBA trade rumors which will be published here when they come along.
