Korean Culture Festival Planned For Early October In Chengdu, China

The Hallyu wave is truly a global phenomenon and as evidenced by the ever-growing number of Korean culture festivals taking place all over the world and China's first-ever "K-Culture Festival" is among them.

Hosted by The Groove Entertainment, "K-Culture Festival" is to be a three-day festival held in Chengdu, China this October.

The festival was originally to be held in June but was postponed due to the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) that struck South Korea earlier this year.

"We have been preparing for the Korean-Chinese festival for over a year. There were some hardships due to the delay of the festival. But it is still receiving rave reviews, being the first Korean Wave festival in China," said Hwang Dong Sub, head of the agency.

The festival is to be focused around three themes: K-Pop, performance and drama OSTs. Much to the delight of festival-goers, many well-known celebrities will be featured at this year's "K-Culture Festival" including Psy, Kim Jong Kook, Haha and Lyn.

The director of the festival states, "We aim to make diverse contents of Korean culture appealing to the local people in China."

The Groove Entertainment's "K-Culture Festival" kicks off in Chengdu on October 3 and runs through October 5, 2015.
