SS501 Member Kim Kyu Jong To Hold Solo Concert In Japan This Weekend

SS501's Kim Kyu Jong is currently preparing for his first solo concert, which is to be held in Japan this Sunday.

This concert comes on the heels of Kim's incredibly popular Japanese single, "Drawing Love," which was released on July 21 and ranked first on Tower Record's daily chart.

With the expiration of SS501's contract in 2010, Kim opted to leave DSP Media and signed with B2M Entertainment, along with group member, Heo Young Saeng. A year later Kim made his debut as a musical actor, taking on the male lead's role in Goong: Musical and made his debut as a solo artist three months later, with the release of his first mini-album, Turn Me On. A month after his debut as a solo artist, Kim made his debut as a small screen actor, appearing in CSTV's weekend drama, Saving Madame Go Bong Shil.

Taking a break from his busy schedule to fulfill his mandatory military service, Kim returned to both the stage and the small screen, taking on various roles in both dramas and musicals, the most recent of which is his role as the protagonist, Hee Min, in Naver's TV Cast web-drama, Start Love, which is scheduled to begin airing this month.

"Since this is his first solo concert, he's been making a tremendous effort. He has tried to come up with creative ideas and ways to make the concert meaningful and special," said a representative of B2M Entertainment.

The concert will be held at Sakura Hall in Tokyo, Japan on September 13.
