Red Velvet Top Music Charts Around The World With 'The Red'

The world may find itself going a little bit dumb over the next few weeks, but it's a special kind of dumb.

It's the kind of dumb that really means you're at a loss for words due to excitement.

According to reports, fans across the globe are definitely excited about Red Velvet's brand new single "Dumb Dumb" and their first full-length album, "The Red." In addition to dominating several digital charts in Korea, the group has also topped China's YinYueTai as well as several iTunes charts across Asia.

Right before the release of their latest single, Red Velvet expressed their wishes that "Dumb Dumb" would become addicting to everyone on their "V" live broadcast.

"We wish it to become a very addictive track so everyone can sing along. We want it to become a track that you cannot listen to during exam weeks," they said (via Allkpop).

It would appear that the girls have gotten their wish and more with the international chart domination of "Dumb Dumb".

According to Allkpop, "The Red" album was number one on iTunes charts in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. On the "Pop Albums" charts, Red Velvet's album was second in Thailand, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

As far as performance in Western countries, Red Velvet took the fifth spot in the U.S, eighth in Canada, France, Norway, and New Zealand, and ninth in Sweden.

Red Velvet officially began their music show performances with an appearance on Mnet M! Countdown on Sept. 9. The group will continue their promotions through the weekend on "Music Bank, "Music Core," on Sept. 12, and "Inkigayo" on Sept. 13.
