Google's Android Pay Is Now Live, The Newest Rival To Apple Pay Makes Paying Safer And More Secure

Google’s Android Pay gets launched as the newest mobile payment platform to hit the United States market.

Google’s Android Pay was announced last Thursday and is considered the rival to Apple Pay. There are many transactions that are made online and modern technology brought this concept to mobile devices. Android users who are willing to join in can download the app at Google Play.

It works very similarly to Apple Pay by using NFC or near-field communication that enables a “tap and pay” feature that will make payments easier and more convenient.

Mashable reported that the platform supports a number of major credit cards from banks like American Express, Discover, Navy Federal Credit Union, Bank Of America, PNC, U.S. Bank and USAA. Banks aren’t the only ones in on this new platform, even major retailers and major restaurant chains have already signed on to Google’s Android Pay.

Apart from being convenient, Official Android reported that security is one of the main features of Google’s Android Pay. A virtual account number is given as an extra layer of security over the credit or debit card number and as soon as a purchase is made there is a payment confirmation as well. This way it makes it easier to pinpoint suspicious activity when it comes to making transactions online.

“Android Pay enables simple and secure purchases of physical goods and services in Android apps,” reported Google Developers.

“It eliminates the need to manually enter payment and shipping information. Integrate Android Pay to reach millions of signed-in Android users and drive higher conversions.”

More features will be added in the coming months as it is an app that wants to make Android Pay work for the user.
